The Big One

I hope that one day I’ll be tall
To go on the famous Big One
Last time I went I was too small
And I wasn’t allowed to get on

It is very furious and wild
And you don’t even need a seat belt
And I’d be the youngest child
Another six centimetres left

And then I would be wild
With excitment to go on this ride
It is not for the meek and the mild
And my stomach would jingle inside!

I wrote this for the EIF Poetry Challenge, about the Rollercoaster I really want to go on!

  1. This deffo not for me Benji – couldn’t handle it and to call it fun, for me, would be surreal.’Meek and mild’ I guess I am and certainly not blessed with the strongest of stomachs either – so you have certainly nailed it here…

  2. It’s been more than 10 years since I’ve had the chance to ride on a roller coaster. When I lived in the northeast US, I’d go to Cedar Point in Ohio. There were at least 5 giant coasters, and I’d ride every one. When you finally get your chance, you’re going to love it.

  3. Rollercoasters are not for the faint-hearted. (Many years ago a group of us were stuck on the rollercoaster in Blackpool and had to climb down – yes, honestly!)
